It took Mike nearly 25 years and a trip to the DEMA 2012 in Las Vegas for Mike to meet his old friend Jerry Beaty again. Jerry is the successful associate publisher of Dive Training Magazine. Jerry’s knowledge about dive-tourism and his insights are unmatched in the industry.
After the reconnection in Vegas, Mike invited Jerry to visit our Dauin Beach Resort, whenever his busy schedule allows him to hop to the Philippine archipelago.
Successful DEMA Show 2012
The Philippines had a strong appearance at this year’s DEMA show in Las Vegas. Spearheaded by Tourism Attaché Mary Anne Cuevas of the Department of Tourism (DOT), the Philippines had the second largest booth of all participants at the DEMA 2012.
The Philippine Dive Team not only provided great choices of diving destinations in the Philippines but also offered the participants and underwater photographers magnificent opportunities to experience the country’s underwater plethora of wonders and diverse eco systems.
Mike and Joe Ann represented our Beach Resort with the Adventure Dive Shop in Dauin and Dumaguete and provided very valuable information to dive operators and travel Pro’s from all over the world about our unique location in the central Visayas. Working as a team ensured, that we were not only present at the Philippine booth during opening hours, but also gave the opportunities to visit other exhibitors, strengthen old and establish valuable new contacts.
The DEMA 2012 was with over 10,000 attendees one of the most successful in its history, it also manifested the Philippine as a prime SCUBA dive destination in the world.

Check it out our kids pool has been blessed with the first swim, the first beer. The kids loved it and so did we. Windows are going in, the painters are painting. The toilets are finished. We getting ready to rock n roll…
Tiles and furniture
Finally working on the tiles in the rooms and patios. I found the right guys to do the work and we are full steam ahead……… As we finish each level with tiles then we can have the window installer follow up, then the painter. So I except that in 2-3 weeks we have the upstairs rooms ready to go… Furniture is being hand made and is already being delivered room by room….. Out door furniture is being made in Cebu and should be here in 4 weeks….. Keep checking for new pictures
Getting There!!!
Wow. We started landscaping last week! What a difference. The place is coming along great. Every little bit now brings us closer to the opening which is still sheduled for Oct. 2009. The pool is going to be awesome and we are planting more trees , bushes and grass…. new pictures are coming soon

Construction of our Dive and Beachresort in Dauin
My cousin came to Dumaguete to help us with the tiles at the construction-site of the Dauin Beachresort.
We finished most of it and now our workers starting with the tiles in the Pool. All looks great for our soft-opening in October.
